The Museum of Aviation Foundation in Warner Robins recently received a grant from the Morris Bank Community Foundation for $15,000 to fund the rubberized surface for a new inclusive playground on their campus. The museum’s foundation is continuing their fundraising efforts for additions to the project.
“The Foundation committee is thrilled to receive the funds for the resurfacing of our play area,” says Jenny O’neal, Director of Operations for the Museum of Aviation. “With this support from the Morris Bank Community Foundation, we’ll be able to kickstart the progress of the play area project and will allow us to serve those who are underserved in our community.”
The Museum of Aviation portrays a rich history of the Robins Air Force Base and honors the legacy of our veterans, while also serving as the second largest museum in the United States Air Force. To continue supporting the museum’s mission, the Foundation serves to meticulously preserve our Nation’s military history and grow future leaders through education and inspiration. This inclusive play area will serve all spectrum of needs for the children in Houston County and surrounding communities who visit the facility.
The Morris Bank Community Foundation was formed in 2017 and exists to help support and sustain local organizations within the communities they serve. Simply put, Morris Bank wanted to give back to the communities that have allowed them to grow. Through this program, financial grants are awarded to strengthen and support organizations such as local schools, community and faith-based institutions, government institutions providing public services, non-for-profits and other 501(c)(3) organizations.
