The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and its Office of Adult Education (OAE) recently announced that the Adult Education Division (AED) of Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) is the recipient of federal grant funding to help expand programming in upcoming years.
Under this grant, Central Georgia Technical College will receive federal Adult Education & Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) and state matching grant funds for the following activities: Adult Basic & Secondary Education, Corrections Education (funded under WIOA Section 225), English Language Acquisition Services and Integrated English Literacy & Civics Education.
OAE has not yet determined an official amount CGTC will receive, as appropriation awaits in the state’s legislature.
Still, the Division is grateful to be a recipient of funding.
“We are excited to continue serving our community with Adult Education services,” said CGTC’s vice president of Adult Education, Brenda Brown. “With this grant, we have the opportunity to expand our workforce training in the coming year to include technology training and entrepreneurship.”
