Georgia Farm Bureau Donating to Brookdale Warming Center
Thursday, February 4th, 2021
Macon-Bibb County and the Georgia Farm Bureau will hold a news conference on Wednesday, February 3 at 10:45 a.m. The news conference will be held in Commission Chambers in Government Center (700 Poplar Street) and will be broadcast live at www.Facebook.com/MaconBibbcounty.
Mayor Lester Miller, GFB Director of Public Relations & Information Kenny Burgamy, and Brookdale Warming Center Director Steve Bell will announce the donation of $5,000 from the Georgia Farm Bureau. The funds will be used to directly support the individual needs of its residents.
With Georgia Farm Bureau’s home office located in Macon-Bibb County since the 1940’s, and serving as the fourth largest employer here, it consistently looks for opportunities to help improve and support the needs in the community.
“The importance of the warming center and the idea behind its mission is part of Farm Bureau’s commitment to protecting Georgian families and making a positive impact through local efforts,” said Georgia Farm Bureau President Tom McCall. “As a grassroots organization with 158 offices around the state, we understand the power of community members working together for a greater tomorrow.”
“I have consistently believed the resources are available in our community to help people when they need us, and the outpouring of support for the residents at the Warming Center is proof,” says Mayor Miller. “I want to encourage...no challenge...each of you as businesses and individuals to find a way to join us, whether it’s donating money or even your time helping there.”
