Final Week for Educators to Apply for $2,500 Innovation in Education Grant
Thursday, February 25th, 2021
Applications are being sought to give educators a special grant, but time is running out to apply. Pre-K to 12th grade teachers are invited to apply for an Innovation in Education grant of up to $2,500 at www.CoxCharitiesSER.org by Sunday, February 28, 2021. Innovation in Education grants support technology, programs and curriculum that promote students’ academic success and enhance the educational experience.
Employees from the Cox Southeast Region have raised more than $50,000 of their own money to benefit schools in the Cox service area. The Cox Southeast Region includes: Acadiana, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans Louisiana, Florida’s Gulf Coast (Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach), Central Florida (Gainesville and Ocala) and Middle Georgia (Macon and Warner Robins). Cox employees donate to the program through recurring payroll deductions and one-time gifts. Funds that are raised locally support local nonprofits along with supporting educators in the areas where Cox employees live.
Branded under the theme “Give Where You Live,” Cox Charities was created to strengthen Cox communities through the support of programs that positively impact communities in the areas of education, technology, social issues, conservation and the arts. In addition to the Innovation in Education grants, Cox Charities offers Community Investment grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (with a grant cycle opening in August 2021.) Last year, employees in the Southeast Region pledged over $150,000 to Cox Charities.
