Allied Arts will host a weekly winter session Zumba® Kids class starting January 21, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in Allen’s Market, located in downtown Milledgeville at 101 W. McIntosh St. Now on Thursdays, classes will take place once per week in this six-week session for children ages 5-12. Class space is strictly limited to nine students and must be pre-registered. To register, visit milledgevillealliedarts.com or call 478-452-3950. The cost for the six-week session is $35.
Dance styles learned will include Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue, Bollywood, Bhangra, hip-hop and pop music. On the last day of the session the children will have a performance for friends and family.
Donita Crowder, a certified Zumba® instructor, is excited to teach children the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and activity. Zumba® Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. Crowder will break down the steps, add games, activities, and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. The class will help develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives by making fitness fun. Students will improve their key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, teamwork, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, and cultural awareness. Crowder says she is “so excited to help children develop a love for fitness and dance, while introducing them to music and dances from around the world.”
Allied Arts will be taking strict precautions against the spread of Covid-19 and will expect students/parents to follow all guidelines. Aside from mask wearing, 6-ft, distancing, manual sanitization of commonly touched surfaces, and additional protocols, Allied Arts has invested in a sanitization fogger that will be used before and after each class; the fogger sanitizes even soft/upholstery surfaces.
