Middle Georgia Labs, provided by Middle Georgia Heart, is proud to offer saliva Covid-19 testing to the community. The saliva Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test is the most accurate Covid-19 test available. Middle Georgia Labs is the only CLIA certified high complexity laboratory in Middle Georgia that offers this testing method – one of only two laboratories in Georgia with these capabilities. 

Instead of using a nasal swab, which can be uncomfortable for patients, our CLIA certified high complexity lab collects a painless saliva sample. The PCR method tests for an active infection by looking for pieces of genomic materials of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. The saliva PCR test is extremely sensitive, making it the most accurate test available. Results can be provided to the patient in less than 24 hours. 

Our laboratory partners with physician and specialists’ offices to provide confirmatory Covid-19 tests with fast turnaround times. Middle Georgia Labs accepts insured and uninsured patients. 

Middle Georgia Labs also offers group Covid-19 testing for businesses, schools, and sports teams. Our mobile lab will come to a business or school and set up drive-thru testing. Employees or members of the group can be tested while remaining in their vehicles. Our accurate, rapid saliva PCR tests can reduce a business’ downtime and minimize lost revenue.
