The Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center is preparing to serve hundreds of local veterans free food during its Veterans Appreciation Event on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 1001 Armed Forces Boulevard beginning at 10 a.m.

Food, care bags, and other giveaways will be available to the first 300 veterans in attendance. In adherence to local and state guidelines for social distancing, the event will be mobile.

Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicle as Center employees and volunteers distribute goods.

“Local businesses have come together to express their gratitude to our local veterans,” said Ret. Col. Patricia Ross, chief operating officer of the Georgia VECTR Center. “We realize many of our veterans cannot celebrate the day in a traditional manner, so we are doing our first drive-thru, contactless, veteran celebration.”

Sponsors of this year’s event include Central Georgia Technical College, Middle Georgia Community Bank, Tyson Foods, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Chick-fil-A Warner Robins, Georgia Farm Bureau, Frito-Lay Perry, Target of Warner Robins, Longhorn Steakhouse of Warner Robins, Greater Union Baptist Church, Robins Air Force Base, and Robins Regional Chamber.

Veteran status of attendees will be verified by staff. For more information call, 478-218-3900.
