Family Counseling Center Offers FREE Workshops and Support Groups

Family Counseling Center of Central Georgia will be offering FREE workshops and support groups for the Central Georgia community.
During these challenging times in our world taking care of yourself is vital. National headlines continue to emphasize the concerns for our societal collective mental health. It is time to focus on self-care and Family Counseling can help you begin your process.
Patty Gibbs, executive director, said, “COVID-19, racial inequity, politics, working remotely, working in high risk environments, learning virtually and so much more is causing stress, anxiety and depression. We aren’t able to do the typical activities we are used to doing and it is affecting our mental health”. Gibbs stated, “these workshops and support group are a way for us to reach out and help our community. We all need support and tips on how to cope during this period in our history”.
Family Counseling has licensed professional counselors who will conduct the workshops and support group. In addition, community members can call to make an individual counseling appointment.
All workshops and support groups are free, all you need to do is call 478 745-2811 to register. All session will be conducted virtually. After registration is completed a link to the session will be sent.

“A Woman’s Place”
This weekly support group will focus on “self-work” for healing during traumatic times in our community. Every week explores a new topic in self-care and awareness.
Open to Women 18 years of age and older.
