Before next summer, families living on and around Lynmore Avenue will be able to enjoy the new Frankie Everett Lewis Park, thanks to Macon-Bibb County's Blight Remediation Program and the voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The Park was named for Ms. Lewis for her leadership and contributions to the Macon-Bibb County community for more than 30 years. It will include a picnic pavilion, tricycle track, playground, open lawn, basketball courts, walking track, benches, landscaping, parking, lighting, and more.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 834 Lynmore Avenue on Thursday, October 8, at 10:00 a.m., and it will be broadcast live on the Macon-Bibb County Facebook page. Due to restrictions on gatherings because of COVID-19, only invited guests and the media will be allowed to attend.

In February 2017, three blighted structures at 782, 806, and 818 Lynmore Avenue were demolished as part of the County's effort to attack blight in each of the Commissioners' districts. The Park was named for Ms. Lewis in 2019, and in August 2020, the Commission allocated $760,500 in SPLOST funds to hire Stafford Builders and Consultants to make this dream a reality.
