Georgia Power Helps Fill Electric Vehicle Charging Gap in Milledgeville
Thursday, September 3rd, 2020
Georgia Power has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) charger at the Burger King at 2478 North Columbia Street in Milledgeville, electrifying the corridor along Highway 441 between I-20 and Macon. The chargers will also support local drivers at Georgia College.
The installation represents the newest technology in EV fast chargers, offering charging speeds up to 125kW – adding 100 miles in 12 minutes – dual dispensers and power sharing capability. Earlier in the month, Georgia Power installed a charger in Lavonia.
This gives Georgia Power 39 fast-charger installations. The company previously installed 37 fast chargers to serve the growing EV population in Georgia. Charging at the station will be complimentary to all drivers for the next 30 days.
The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) awarded Georgia Power $24 million for electric transportation in the latest rate case earlier this year. Georgia Power will invest $6 million over the next three years in fast-charging EV infrastructure for the public, further enabling electric vehicle adoption and connecting communities.
Georgia Power is committed to growing the electric vehicle market and is dedicated to providing customers with the resources they need to learn more about the benefits and potential savings of driving electric. Learn more atwww.GeorgiaPower.com/EV.
