Dublin Rotary Club Partners with Communities in Schools to Provide Supplies

The Dublin Rotary Club has partnered with Communities in Schools of Laurens County (CIS) to help provide school supplies for the 2020-2021 school year. Dublin Rotary Club president, Will Curry, presented a check for $500 to CIS on Wednesday, September 16, to Jackie Curtis, Executive Director of CIS. As a civic organization, one of Rotary’s key areas of focus is supporting education efforts in the Dublin-Laurens County community. 
 
“The Dublin Rotary Club is proud to support CIS as it is making a difference in the lives of young people within our community,” said Will Curry, President of the Dublin Rotary Club. “Jackie Curtis has dedicated her career to empower teens, and all those she comes in contact with, to realize their full potential and make a positive impact in others. We are fortunate to have Jackie and an organization like Communities in Schools in Dublin.”
 
The mission of Communities in Schools of Georgia in Laurens is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. 
 
CIS believes that every child needs and deserves:

  • a one on one relationship with a caring adult

  • a marketable skill to use upon graduation

  • a chance to give back to peers and community

“We are grateful to the Dublin Rotary Club for their donation and continued support of this community,” said Jackie Curtis, Executive Director of CIS. “This donation will allow us to provide essential school supplies for students in our programs.”
