The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking call for Session Proposals
Thursday, July 16th, 2020
The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking is now accepting proposals for sessions for the 2021 South Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit. The Summit will begin online in February and culminate in an in-person event in Macon, GA. The tentative dates for the in-person event are May 20 and 21. Macon Arts Alliance is the local host organization for the Summit.
Creative Placemaking Leadership Summits feature sessions for practitioners as well as peer-reviewed research sessions for scholars.
The deadline for proposals is August 12.
Proposals are accepted on any topic related to creative placemaking.
For this Summit, NCCP is particularly interested in proposals that explore how creative placemaking can
-
address systemic and personal racism
-
surface and empower the creativity inherent in every community
-
help rural and under-resourced communities
-
help communities recover economically
-
enhance physical or mental well-being, and support artists and other creative placemaking professionals
-
support local artists and cultural sector professionals
NCCP would also consider session proposals for helping creative placemakers raise more funds or generate more net revenue, as well as proposals for promoting equitable procurement practices in the arts.
Session proposals must be relevant to communities in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky or Tennessee.
