Dublin Service League Brings Smiles to Senior Citizens and Caregivers in Honor of July 4th
Monday, July 6th, 2020
The Dublin Service League assembled and donated over 165 floral arrangements for residents at Dublin Place, Addington Place, Heritage House, Twelve Oaks, James Place, Thompson Manor, and Emerald City Lodge today in celebration of July 4th weekend. Dublin Service League members also baked dozens of cakes and pies for their caregivers. The group also provided small floral arrangements to frontline staff working this Fourth of July weekend at Fairview Park Hospital.
“We know this July 4th will be the first time a lot of residents in assisted living facilities will not be able to see their loved ones during the July 4th weekend,” said Ashlee Torpy, President of the Dublin Service League. “The Dublin Service League wanted to do something special to let each of them know we are thinking of them as well as provide a sweet treat to caregivers to thank them for everything they are doing to care for our senior population during these unprecedented times.
Thank you to Dr. Andy Bozeman with Blue Sky Farms, Classic Florist, and Alexander’s Printing for partnering with us to provide clippings and tags for these beautiful arrangements and to our members for assembling the arrangements, cutting clippings, and baking the cakes and pies. Thank you to Smith’s of Dublin for coordinating desserts at their shop and Downtown Dublin for donating space for us to assemble.”
