Bibb County School District Superintendent Dr. Curtis Jones will host a live Q&A with parents on Thursday, July 9, at 5:30 PM to discuss the reopening of schools. The event will be recorded and a link to view the recording will be shared following the event.

The deadline to apply for remote learning for 2020 has been extended to Sunday, July 12, by 11:59 PM in order to allow parents time to hear the presentation at today’s Board of Education meeting and to hear from the Superintendent on Thursday. In order to apply for remote learning, visit https://www.bcsdk12.net/news/what_s_new/apply_for_remote_learning. Remote learning is open to students in grades Pre-K through 12. A list of Frequently Asked Questions about remote learning is available at the linked page to apply for remote learning. Any student in the District who is not registered for remote learning by the July 12 deadline will be identified as participating in the District’s instructional plan for the 2020-2021 school year. 

If a parent has already completed the application for remote learning, he/she will receive an email from the Bibb County School District on Friday, July 10. If, after hearing from the Superintendent, the parent wishes to change his/her mind and send his/her child to school in person, this email will provide the parent with a link to unenroll the child from remote learning. Parents must unenroll a child from remote learning by 11:59 PM Sunday, July 12. If a parent does not wish to change his/her mind and he/she plans to continue with remote learning, he/she will not need to respond to the email. If a parent applied for remote learning but he/she does not receive an email on Friday, he/she should send an email with the parent’s name, child’s name and contact information to [email protected].

The Bibb County Board of Education will host a Called Meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 5 p.m. The meeting will take place via teleconference due to COVID-19.
