Mercer University Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Services Ken Boyer was presented the National Associate of Campus Card Users (NACCU) 2020 Distinguished Service Award on April 27 during the organization’s virtual awards ceremony.

The Distinguished Service Award, sponsored by ASSA ABLOY, is presented annually to an individual who has advanced the industry, exhibited entrepreneurial spirit, is an active member of NACCU, is actively involved in research and development, and who is active in the industry through serving on advisory boards and/or actively educating through presentations and sessions.

The virtual presentation of the award to Boyer by ASSA ABLOY Director of Sales Jim Primovic is available on the NACCU YouTube channel.

“I am humbled to be your NACCU 2020 Distinguished Service Award recipient,” said Boyer. “We have a motto here at Mercer – ‘Everybody majors in changing the world.’ And I think that’s so true of us at NACCU. What we do on our campuses helps change and impact our students and their lives for the future.”

Boyer’s service to NACCU includes leading and participating in many presentations and educational programs, as well as mentoring and guiding many of the talented leaders within the industry. He has served as organization’s president, on its board of directors and on numerous committees, and he currently serves as the NACCU Conference Chair. He also served as chairman of the Executive Director Search Committee that hired current Executive Director Dawn Thomas.

“During his tenure on the board, he helped to strengthen a solid foundation for NACCU to stand on to explore new initiatives. He does not shy away from new technology on his campus and is always more than happy to share innovations with others and provide guidance and support to other campuses. Ken strongly believes that NACCU is a family and he is always striving to make new connections and to nurture those he has made,” read a press release from NACCU announcing the award. “NACCU would not be where it is today without this individual and his enthusiasm, forward-thinking and visionary leadership.”

Boyer is currently in his 28th year with Mercer and has served as the University’s associate vice president for auxiliary services since January 2008.
