Coliseum Health System Accepting Scholarship Applications

The volunteer programs of Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital are currently accepting applications for the 2020 Coliseum Health System Volunteer Scholarship Program. To assist students in their quest to become healthcare professionals, the hospital volunteers award scholarships of $1,000 to deserving graduating high school seniors or post-secondary students pursuing a career in healthcare. These students may be aspiring nurses, physicians or other health occupation professionals, as well as those interested in healthcare administration.
Interested applicants must complete the online Volunteer Scholarship Application, which is available on the “Volunteer” page of our website. Applicants must also mail a packet to include:
· An essay (500 words or less; doubled spaced in 10 inch font) explaining why you want to be in your healthcare profession of choice and what qualities you possess that would make you an asset to that profession. Please also tell why you feel you should be awarded a scholarship.
· A resume highlighting any work experience, awards received, community involvement and/or volunteerism (ex: scout membership, 4-H, civic group or clubs, volunteer work, etc.)
· An official high school or post-secondary school transcript
· Two sealed letters of recommendation from people unrelated to the applicant

Application deadline is May 1, 2020. A committee will select the recipients and winners will be announced in June 2020. The scholarships will be paid directly to the school the recipient plans to attend in Fall 2020.
