Macon has had hockey, arena football, basketball, baseball, dodgeball and numerous collegiate sports to entertain and excite us, but we have never had a USAV junior volleyball tournament until now.  Women’s volleyball is the fastest growing sport in the US so now is a great time to get on board.
 
Phoenix Rising Volleyball Club has been sponsoring junior volleyball tournaments for 6 years in convention centers from Kingsport, TN to Dalton, GA.  This year we are proud to announce that Phoenix Rising’s newest 2 Day event will be right here in Macon, GA at our Macon Marriott City Center Convention Space. Play will begin at 8 am on March 15-16, 2020.
 
When Phoenix Rising Volleyball wanted to expand their tournament schedule from 6 to 7 2-day events they looked for a Georgia location because the club had expanded into Canton, GA in 2018.  They field junior club teams from 2 states, 3 cities.  Kynette Williams, the executive director of Phoenix Rising, said the location of Macon along the I-75 corridor and the obvious improvements being made in the city made Macon a great fit for growth.  “We want new people to discover our tournaments and a city that has more going on than they realize. There was certainly more going on than we realized before we visited and all of it is good.  My staff and I hope this will be the beginning of a great partnership between Phoenix Rising Volleyball Club and the city of Macon.”
