Georgia DOT to Resurface Georgia 19/US 41/Forsyth Road from Bass Road to North Wellington Starting Tuesday
Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Monday, March 16th, 2020
The Georgia DOT has contracted with McLeRoy, Inc. to mill and resurface Georgia 19/US 41/Forsyth Road from the Bass Road intersection to North Wellington. The project will start Tuesday, Mar. 17 and should be complete by Friday, Mar. 20, 2020.
The work became necessary following an emergency underground pipe repair undertaken on that portion of roadway last week.
The work zone will be in effect each day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To accommodate the road construction crews, one lane at a time will be closed to the highway's traffic. A lane shift will be indicated using orange and white barrels, and signage will be posted in advance of the closure. Drivers using Georgia 19/US 41 as a straight-through route may wish to find an alternate route to avoid possible traffic backup.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution alongside the work zone, slowing their speeds and remaining alert to the teams and their equipment.
