State Representative Dale Washburn (R-Macon) was recently named chairman of the House Regulated Industries Subcommittee on Regulatory Legislation by State Representative Alan Powell (R-Hartwell), chairman of the House Regulated Industries Committee.
“I am honored that Chairman Powell selected me to serve in this additional role on the House Regulated Industries Committee,” said Rep. Washburn. “When I was first elected as a state representative, I specifically requested to serve on this very important committee, and I look forward to taking up legislation that will be assigned to this subcommittee during the 2020 legislative session.”
“Representative Washburn is a hardworking and eager legislator,” said Rep. Powell. “Over the last year, Rep. Washburn has been an active member of the House Regulated Industries Committee and has shown his expertise in this area.”
The House Regulated Industries Committee regulates the way certain industries conduct business through licensure and certification. These industries include alcohol, tobacco, construction, cosmetology, funeral services and other trades.
