Coliseum Health System will “Think Pink” throughout the month of October as we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital will offer several special events designed to bring awareness to the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection, honor breast cancer survivors, and remember those whose lives ended too soon because of the disease. 

Dr. Keith Martin, a surgeon at Coliseum Surgical Specialists, said, “Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a great opportunity for us to educate all women on the importance of early detection so that breast cancer can be found in its earliest stages when it is easier to treat. At the same time, we honor women who have been given that difficult diagnosis and we honor them in their fight against the disease.”

Free Seminar: Women at Risk for Breast Cancer

Are you one of the millions of women at risk for breast cancer - and can you do anything to change that? Join us at this seminar as Keith Martin, MD, general surgeon, and Cheryl Jones, MD, oncologist, cover important topics like hormone therapy – what is safe and what is not; dense breast tissue issues; how to interpret your mammogram; racial disparity; managing high risk patients and genetics. Additionally, during the month of October, Coliseum Health System will also offer “Peace of Mind for $59.”  Screeningmammograms will be offered for a cash price of $59.
