Wednesday, September 11th, 2019
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center will hold a Moment of Silence during the raising of the American Flag September 11, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. on its front lawn to honor those who lost their lives 18 years ago during the terrorist attack.
The ceremony will include an official flag-raising by the Dublin VA Police Department Color Guard and then Flag will be lowered to half-staff in memorial to the victims.
David L. Whitmer, Medical Center Director said the attack will be a lasting memory.
“Those of us who were alive to witness that horrific act, will never forget.” Whitmer said. “During this moment of silence, we will remember the 2,996 lives that were lost. We also know we have Veterans that stood and still stand against the enemy, so our Flag can fly. The price of freedom is truly visible here.”
