Visit Macon will host its annual meeting, Thursday, August 15 at the Anderson Conference Center at noon.  The annual meeting will include a tourism awards ceremony and year-end recap.
           
The 2019 Otis Hughes Tourism Spirit and B.J. Cain Top of the Line awards will be presented during the tourism awards ceremony. The Otis Hughes Tourism award is given to a person who has contributed significantly to the Macon tourism industry and has given unending time, talent and skill to support Macon’s tourism growth. The B.J. Cain Top of the Line award is presented to a person who works directly with a visitor at an attraction, restaurant and/or lodging property and goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide an exemplary experience for the visitor.
 
The program will feature a presentation from Craig Dominey, Senior Film Location Specialist & Camera Ready Program Manager for the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Film & Entertainment Division. He works with film companies to answer location questions and to help them connect with locations throughout the state of Georgia. The meeting will also include a performance by singer and songwriter, Shane Bridges.
