Hutchings College and Career Academy (HCCA) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and Perdue Farms’ Perry Cook Plant in Houston County to establish an industrial maintenance partnership program and expand career opportunities for Bibb County School District high school students. The signing will take place on Monday, August 26, at 1:30 p.m. in the Jones Building at CGTC in Macon.
The partnership will help addresses local workforce needs for Perdue by aligning Bibb County students with technical classroom training through classes at CGTC, and students will earn Technical College Credits (TCCs). The partnership will include mentoring and guest speakers during the program. Additionally, each student who meets the requirements will be guaranteed an interview with Perdue upon completion of the program.
Representatives will be present to speak in depth about the importance of this partnership. This partnership further signifies the District’s commitment to working with businesses to ensure students are college or career ready.
