Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Friday, May 17th, 2019
The Go Nuts Race #5 – hosted by Lake Tobesofkee, the Ocmulgee Mountain Bike Association (OMBA), and Go Nuts Racing – will be held at Arrowhead Park (2800 Arrowhead Drive) on Saturday, May 18. Races begin with children ages 3-5 at 8:00 a.m. and continue all the way until all age groups have finished, and the courses can be anywhere from 7 to almost 30 miles. In past years, between 100 and 120 mountain biker have raced in this event.
“This is another one of the great events that bring people to Lake Tobesofkee every year and give us the chance to show people all the different types of recreational activities we have to offer,” says Lake Tobesofkee Director Donald Bracewell.
Go Nuts Racing bills this course as “one of the more challenging trails in the middle GA area, featuring lots of elevation changes and one creek crossing that can be a bit tricky. Better save your energy if you’re doing more than one lap, because there are not many recover sections. You’re awarded with some awesome downhill’s after some intense climbs! Amazing trail system from an awesome SORBA chapter.”
