The 2019 Macon-Bibb County Earth Day Festival is happening from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Tattnall Square Park. The global theme for Earth Day this year is Protect Our Species. The Mulberry Market will be set up for shoppers to pick up locally grown produce, handmade goods, and more.  In addition to wellness and physical fitness exercises, there will be a Kids Zone set up with games, projects, face painting, activities, and murals for kids of all ages to color. Visit our welcome tent to get a free ticket for our bike giveaway. We’re giving away four child bicycles with helmets.

New this year: A-OK Portables will have four painted port-a-potties on display for people to view and vote on their favorite! It’s the first-ever “Paint A Potty” competition. A-OK Owner Lee Insley says this competition is a “humorous way to shine light on a dirty topic.” Each person who casts a vote for their favorite potty will receive a free packet of flower seeds.

You can get up close and personal with snakes and spiders thanks to the Southeastern Reptile Rescue, as well as several other rescue groups. Deer Creek Apiaries is bringing a demonstration bee hive for folks to see inside and learn how the little creatures contribute to our wellbeing!
