A new scholarship for students in Baldwin County is now available as the Milledgeville Exchange Club presented the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Foundation last week with a $500 check for the award of two scholarships.
“We are honored to present this scholarship to Central Georgia Technical College in the amount of $500 to serve two students in the upcoming academic year,” said Jeffery Wells, the president-elect of the Milledgeville Exchange Club during the presentation on the Milledgeville campus of CGTC.
“The Exchange Club who not only has a mission of child abuse prevention but youth development, community service and Americanism feel that this dovetails perfectly to what the mission of Central Georgia Tech entails.”
The scholarship will be awarded each fall and spring semester in the amount of $250 to one eligible student per semester. In the event that a student has enough financial aid to cover tuition and fees, scholarship funds may be approved to purchase educational-related expenses, such as program supplies or tools related to the program.
“We are delighted to partner with the Milledgeville Exchange Club,” said Tonya McClure, assistant vice president for Advancement at CGTC. “Our missions align perfectly, and we are grateful for the support that will assist us in ensuring the students of Baldwin County have every opportunity available to pursue their educational goals.”
The Milledgeville Exchange Club is a service organization deeply rooted in Milledgeville, focused primarily on community outreach and the prevention of child abuse. The organization is comprised of 23 active members who are dedicated to providing the resources needed to obtain a quality education.
