River Edge Behavioral Health Opens a Recovery Support Center

River Edge Behavioral Health opens The Lighthouse, a peer-led addiction recovery support center, in Bibb County. The site offers non-clinical activities that engage, educate, and support individuals to successfully establish recovery from substance use disorder.

The Lighthouse began offering community-based services for individuals and families struggling with a substance use disorder at its new location on February 11, 2019, at 750 Baconfield Office Park, Suite 101 in Macon. Hours of operation for The Lighthouse are Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

River Edge Chief Executive Officer, Shannon Terrell Gordon, EdD, LCSW, CFRE said, “There are many paths to recovery, including peer-led support, according to the United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.  River Edge is happy to offer an additional route to hope, healing and wellness for those seeking recovery from the devastation of addiction to alcohol or other drugs.  Recovery is real and possible for everyone.”
