Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Tuesday, January 8th, 2019
Representatives from the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (HPD) will hold a public information meeting concerning the proposed Napier Heights Historic District and the National Register of Historic Places.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 15, at 6 p.m. at A.L. Miller Village Apartments (2241 Montpelier Ave) in the auditorium.
The meeting is free and open to the public. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with opening remarks from neighborhood leaders. A member of the HPD will then discuss the process for listing a neighborhood on the National Register. Historic Macon Foundation staff members will be available to answer questions regarding the history of Napier Heights. Approval of the district would make Napier Heights Macon’s fifteenth historic district and allow Napier Heights property owners to take advantage of preservation incentives, including the State Income Tax Credit Program for Rehabilitated Historic Property.
