CGTC Foundation’s Casino Night Fundraiser Coming January 11th

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, January 8th, 2019

The adage goes something like this: the house always wins, and it rings particularly true when Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Foundation decided on a location for its fifth annual Pomp and Circumstance: A Casino Night Fundraiser.

The CGTC Foundation, and presenting sponsor Parrish Construction Group, will host its popular fundraiser of classic casino games, for the first time on the College’s Macon campus, Friday, January 11, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the Charles H. Jones Advanced Technology Center, the premier educational hub for workforce training and economic development in middle Georgia.

In 2015, the Foundation, and CGTC’s assistant vice president for Advancement, Tonya L. McClure, oversaw funding through the Peyton Anderson Foundation and equipment donation from Georgia Power, a Southern Company, to establish the Center for high quality training for students and industry partners. 2019 will mark four years of operation for the Charles H. Jones for CGTC, and its inaugural year hosting the Foundation’s most exciting fundraiser.

“We are thrilled to host this year’s Casino Night at the Charles H. Jones Advanced Technology Center,” McClure said. “As the crown jewel of our economic development efforts, the Center is the perfect place to showcase the College’s initiatives ensuring a strong workforce for the future.”

Guests can “go all in” to support this event, which will feature Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Roulette, and Craps. Individual tickets for the event are $50 and $85 per couple. Proceeds from the event benefit the CGTC Foundation for projects including student scholarship and textbook assistance programs.
