Georgia DOT Awards Four Contracts for Upcoming Projects in Houston, Macon and Meriwether Counties

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced it has awarded three roadway maintenance contracts and one construction contract for projects upcoming in Houston, Macon and Meriwether Counties.

The projects include:

  • Houston and Macon Counties: Rehabilitation of 17 miles of roadway and shoulder on Georgia 26 beginning east of Stage Coach Road and extending west of US 41/Georgia 26. The contract was awarded to Reeves Construction Company of Macon, GA for $4 million. The work is expected to be completed in late summer, 2019. 

  • Houston County: Resurfacing nearly 3 miles of roadway on Georgia 127 beginning east of Moody Road and extending east of Purdue Road. The contract was awarded to Reeves Construction Company of Macon, GA for $168,078. The work is expected to be completed in late summer, 2019.

  • Meriwether County: Milling, resurfacing and single-surface treatment paving on 13 miles of Georgia 100 beginning north of US 27 ALT/Georgia 4 and extending to the Troup County line. The contract was awarded to C. W. Matthews Contracting, Co, of Marietta, GA for $4 million. The work is expected to be completed in late summer, 2019.

  • Meriwether County: Construction of a bridge and approaches on Georgia 18 over the CSX Railroad. The contract was awarded to McCoy Grading, Inc. of Greenville, GA for $5.9 million. The work is expected to be completed in early spring of 2020.

The projects were in a bundle of 22 statewide construction projects awarded on October 5, 2018 and totaling $85,397,268. The awards bring the total amount for construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2019 to $276 million. Fiscal Year 2019 began July 1, 2018.
