Wednesday, September 5th, 2018
Tattnall Square Academy junior Wes Allen is committed to supporting our nation’s wounded warriors through Wounded Warrior Project and the nonprofit’s free programs and services. WWP Student Ambassadors assist us in fulfilling their vision of fostering the most successful well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.
Allen is sponsoring a series of events called “Wes’ Warriors” Sept. 5 through Sept. 11 to raise funds for the WWP and to encourage patriotism, respect and awareness of the sacrifices made by those who serve. He will be asking for donations during each event.
Major Matt Griffin will speak to 7-12th grade students at chapel Wed., Sept. 5 at 11:30 a.m. in Trojan Hall. Allen is hosting a Military Appreciation Night Fri., Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at TSA’s football game against Lincoln Co. Donation buckets along with remembrance ribbons will be in areas around the stadium. Military members will be named honorary captains of the game, and all military families will be asked to stand. On Tues., Sept. 11, Allen is hosting a “Casual for a Cause” Patriots Day, where students, faculty, and staff will make a contribution to the WWP and dress in red, white and blue attire.
“I have a passion for my country and a desire to honor those who serve it selflessly. Please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project to support those who have given so much so that we may have the freedom and liberties we have today,” expressed Allen.
