Wednesday, July 18th, 2018

The Cottages at Woodland Terrace in Milledgeville will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Assisted Living residence on Monday, July 16, at 10 a.m. “We are pleased and excited to begin construction of what will become the finest assisted living residence available in the market with superior service in a beautiful building designed to feel like home,” said Randy Griffin, managing partner of Woodland Terrace Properties, LLC.

Griffin expects to have this 35,000 square foot building completed by the fall of 2019. The new addition within this gated community will include 33 assisted living suites, ranging from studio to two bedrooms/two baths. The $7 million project is being locally financed by Century Bank & Trust.

“Continual growth within the community is exciting to see,” stated Matt Poyner, Executive Director of the City of Milledgeville and Baldwin County. “While our main focus is on industrial recruitment, another important sector for growth is that of a retirement community and this just adds to the inventory available for our seniors to enjoy within Milledgeville and Baldwin County.”

Each suite within the residence will have its own kitchenette, private bath and separate living area. Residents will get three nutritious meals a day and have access to a private dining room to enjoy meals on special occasions with family and guests.

“Nancy Fullilove has been an outstanding community manager of the Cottages at Woodland Terrace, as well as a committed and passionate Chamber Ambassador and local advocate,” said Angie Martin, President and CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber. “All of the professionals at The Cottages are so in-tune with the needs of our senior community and the Chamber is thrilled to see their upcoming growth and success.”

The parent company for this gated community owns and operates three similar communities in Georgia: The Cottages on Wesleyan and The Gables at Wolf Creek, both in Macon, and The Cottages of Monroe in Walton County. The Cottages at Woodland Terrace will be the company’s second community to offer both independent living patio homes and an assisted living residence on the same property.

The Cottages at Woodland Terrace is located at 1010 Fernwood Drive, in Milledgeville, just off highway 441. For additional information, contact Nancy Fullilove at (478) 414-1234.
