Warner Robins Posts Record Jobs Numbers in May

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins posted record jobs numbers for the month of May.
Warner Robins saw increases in the labor force, number of employed residents, and jobs – with jobs hitting an all-time high. Warner Robins also saw a drop in the unemployment rate for the three-county metropolitan statistical area.
“Georgia’s employment numbers remain strong,” Butler said. “Across the state, the unemployment rate either remained steady or dropped.”
Warner Robins gained 400 jobs for the month, with total jobs settling at 75,200 – an all-time high. This puts Warner Robins up 1,400 jobs for the year.
The number of employed increased in May as well. Warner Robins gained 541 employed residents. At 83,471 total employed residents, Warner Robins is up by 2,683 for the year.
The labor force also increased in May, up 451 for the month to 86,588. It remains up 1,759 for the year.
The May unemployment rate, at 3.6 percent, was down .1 percent from the previous month. The unemployment rate was 4.8 percent a year ago.
Initial claims for unemployment were down about 67 percent for the month and are down by about 20 percent for the year.
The MSA includes Houston, Peach and Pulaski counties.
