Coliseum Medical Centers Announces New Directors

Coliseum Medical Centers is pleased to announce the selection of several new directors.
 
Matt Turncliff has been named the director of the Coliseum Rehabilitation Center.  Turncliff is originally from New Orleans and moved to Alabama to attend Samford University where he completed his undergraduate degree in sports medicine. After graduation, he began his career at St. Vincent’s Health System in Birmingham as the outpatient therapy manager.  He earned a master’s degree in hospital administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also served as the director of rehabilitation.
 
Jill Brown RN, TCRN has been named the cardiovascular service line director. Brown has been a registered nurse for 30 years. Jill has been with HCA for 13 years including Coliseum Northside Hospital, Coliseum Medical Centers, and most recently, Memorial Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida where she led them to a Level 2 Trauma Center Designation in February. She has over 15 years of administrative experience in various roles such as emergency room educator, emergency room director at a level one trauma center, and trauma director.  Her cardiac experience includes over 5 years as a cath lab nurse, cath lab data management coordinator, and open-heart data management coordinator. Her experience has included emergency medicine, pediatric ICU, interventional cardiology, and trauma.
 
James Colquitt, Ph.D. has accepted the position of Director of Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official for the Residency Programs at Coliseum Medical Centers.  Dr. Colquitt is a Macon native and began his professional career as a respiratory therapist, practicing clinically for 12 years.  He earned his Ph.D. in workforce education and has served in numerous roles, including director of clinical education in respiratory therapy at Middle Georgia State University; assistant professor at Georgia State University; and assistant professor/medical simulationist at Mercer University School of Medicine.  Dr. Colquitt has served as the Associate DIO during Coliseum Medical Centers’ first year as a GME sponsoring institution in affiliation with Mercer University School of Medicine.
