CGTC’s Adult Education Division to Hold Live-Remote Events with Radio Host Tex James

Tune-in to 97.9 WIBB and stop-by Unionville Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, June 9, 2018 as Central Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education Division partners with local radio host Tex James for the first of two, free recruitment events.

A New Start, New Connections: Adult Education Recruitment Fair will kick-off the Division’s recruitment efforts for June in Macon at Unionville Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The second recruitment fair will be at the Peach County Workforce Development Center Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Last year, radio personality Tex James, told the Division he never earned his high school diploma. In the spring of 2018, he enrolled in GED classes and is now collaborating with the AED to reach potential students.

Each event will include fun for the whole family, food, entertainment, and prizes. Vendors from the Georgia Department of Labor and WorkSource-Georgia, and more will be on-hand.

Additionally, the AED will provide on-site registration and orientation to those interested in furthering their education. A valid Georgia ID is necessary to sign up for classes.

The Division offers GED preparation, English literacy courses, college preparation, and job training skills across the 11-county service area of the College.

Unionville Missionary Baptist Church is located at 3837 Houston Ave., Macon, Ga. The Peach County Workforce Development Center is located at 425 James E. Khoury Dr, Fort Valley, GA.
