State Representative Heath Clark (R-Warner Robins) was recently appointed by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve as a member on the House Study Committee on School Security. This study committee is created by House Resolution 1414 and will examine public policy related to the security of school campuses in Georgia.
“I am honored to be appointed to this critical study committee, and I am grateful that Speaker Ralston selected me to serve in this capacity,” said Rep. Clark. “As a father and as a husband of an educator, issues of school safety and security are of utmost importance and personal concern to me. My fellow committee members and I will examine the various factors that can be attributed to school safety and security to provide safer learning environments for Georgia students and teachers, and I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to study these topics.”
The first meeting of the House Study Committee on School Security will be held on Monday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dawson County Board of Education Professional Development Center located at 28 Main Street in Dawsonville, Ga.
