“Critical Infrastructure” will be the topic of the second annual Academic Cybersecurity Seminar on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Middle Georgia State University.  The one-day conference is designed to bring together students, professors, professionals, and leaders for an annual discussion on cybersecurity topics.
 
The ACS, hosted by the Center for Cybersecurity Education and Applied Research at MGA’s School of Information Technology, is free and open to the public.  The program will feature a diverse range of both local and national speakers, including both academic and business leaders in the cybersecurity world.
 
The seminar will be held on MGA’s Macon Campus, in the Robert F. Hatcher Sr. Conference Center, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21. More information on the ACS and online registration for the event is available at www.mga.edu/acs.  Email questions to [email protected].
 
Speakers will include:
 
Dr. Wayne Pauli, professor in the Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Dakota State University of Madison, SD. He is Program Coordinator for the Doctorate in Cyber Security at DSU, and as the Director of the North Central CRRC for the CAE– CDE program of the NSA.
 
Dr. Karen Paullet, a faculty member at Robert Morris University where she teaches Cybersecurity.  Paullet has spent over 13 years working with law enforcement preparing cases using digital evidence for trial.
 
Daniel Robbins, vice president of information security for State Bank & Trust. He is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of cyber-security measures and monitoring employee behavioral risk.
