Senate District 18 Awarded GDOT Projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation awarded approximately $4.5 million for projects in four counties in Senate District 18. The projects awarded to Bibb, Crawford, Houston and Peach Counties were announced as four of the 11 contracts awarded by GDOT in for statewide transportation projects totaling around $62.3 million.
 
“I would like to thank GDOT for awarding these important projects to Senate District 18,” said Sen. John F. Kennedy (R – Macon). “The safety of our local roads remains a top priority and upgrades like these projects will ensure our roadways stay maintained. It is my goal to continue to work with GDOT to bring additional projects to the district as well as surrounding communities.”
 
The project awarded to Bibb and Crawford Counties worth around $2.22 million will address resurfacing and maintenance for around 10.1 miles of State Route 22 from east of US 34/SR 7 to east of Mt. Paran Road. The anticipated completion date for this project is July 31, 2018.
 
Houston and Peach Counties were awarded around $2.24 million for 11 miles of milling, inlay, plant mix resurfacing, single surface treatment paving and shoulder rehabilitation on State Route 7 from south of Mason Terrace Street to State Route 49 . The anticipated completion date for this project is July 31, 2018.
 
Also, during the June contract awards, GDOT awarded approximately $261,000 for a road project in Crawford County. The project was announced as one of the 24 contracts awarded by GDOT for statewide transportation projects totaling around $85 million. The project in Crawford County will address safety upgrades at 25 locations throughout the county. Off-system signing and pavement marking upgrades will be completed by August 31, 2018.
