The United Way of Central Georgia announced that Lisa S. Berrian has joined the organization as vice president of Resource Development and Marketing.

Berrian will lead the Resource Development team with a primary focus on expanding workplace relationships and engagement as well as developing major gifts, grants and new partnerships in support of UWCG’s community impact initiatives.

United Way of Central Georgia President and CEO George McCanless said the organization is pleased to have Berrian in this position.

“Lisa brings a wealth of leadership and customer relationship skills that I am confident will serve United Way well,” McCanless said.  “Most importantly, though, she brings her passion for helping others that is perfectly aligned with our mission and collaborative work.”

Berrian has over 29 years of experience in the sales industry. She comes from the Telegraph, where she served as sales director for over three years. Berrian holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and has been in management for over 10 years.  To explain why she came to the United Way, Berrian uses a quote by Mother Teresa: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

“If I can cast one stone across the community to create a better way, a changed life, a meal for someone, a tutor for a child … this is the best way to do it,” Berrian said.
