GDOL to Co-sponsor Middle Georgia Job Readiness and Recruitment Event in Macon April 18th

The Georgia Department of Labor and several other organizations will co-sponsor the Middle Georgia Job Readiness and Recruitment Event in Macon on Tuesday, April 18. Job seekers will be interviewed for positions in manufacturing and other industries and assessed for potential job training programs.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Professional Science Building at Middle Georgia State University located at 100 University Parkway in Macon.

Other event sponsors include the Workforce Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Middle Georgia Consortium, Middle Georgia Regional Commission and Middle Georgia State University.  

Employers expected to participate in the event are Archway Traditional Care Center, Auto Owners Insurance Company, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Buckley, Coliseum Medical Center, Comcast Spectacor/Macon Complex, Department of Family and Children Services, Dooly State Prison, Excalibur Central, LLC, Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Georgia Air National Guard, Georgia Department of Behavioral Health Development, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Prep Academy-Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Department of Revenue, and the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.   

Also, Horton Global Industries, Interfor, Kooler Ice, Lighthouse Nursing Agency, Lizella Methodist Church, Lynn Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center, Macon-Bibb County Government, Macon Housing Authority, Middle Georgia Regional Library, Moghul Life, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Penske Truck Leasing, River Edge Behavioral Center, Robins Air Force Base, Salem Media Group, Scotts Pharmacy, Sunbelt Plastic Extrusions, Tractor Supply Company Distribution Center, Tranquility Home Care, Trans States Airlines, U.S. Air Force Reserves, U.S. Army-Macon Recruiting Center, Waffle House, Wayne Reeves Software.

The GDOL staff and other co-sponsors will discuss job training programs, including on-the-job training, with the job seekers. Also, the GDOL will conduct job search-workshops and provide other employment-related services to the job seekers.
