Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Friday, March 3rd, 2017

The Rotary Club of Downtown Macon presented the club’s very own “Spirit of Rotary Award” to the Bibb County Sheriff Department during yesterday’s weekly program. This Club led initiative sought out to discover a method in which to recognize a local business, charity, or governmental agency that has demonstrated its fulfillment of the “Rotary 4-Way Test” in the organization’s daily work and commitment to our community. Rotary’s 4-Way Test includes:

1.     Is it the truth?

2.     Is it fair to all concerned?

3.     Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4.     Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The Sheriff’s Office is the inaugural recipient. While law enforcement is not perfect, we are grateful to have local men and women who serve our community selflessly in the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. This award symbolizes our gratitude for the deputies that put their lives on the line to uphold law and order. Their bravery and courage greatly benefit our city, and we are appreciative for what the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office does in seeking the truth in its investigations, in the treatment of citizens, and those accused of crimes, fairly, in building goodwill in the community, and by ultimately working to benefit everyone in Macon-Bibb County.
