Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health is pleased to present its 2017 Pediatric Spring Conference, March 31 – April 1, 2017. The conference will be held at The Medical Center, Navicent Health’s Peyton Anderson Health Education Center (877 Hemlock Street, Macon).

During the two-day conference, speakers will discuss the following topics:

·         Adolescent gynecology

·         Developmental disabilities and the school system

·         Health disparities

·         Non-concussive sports injuries

·         Non-medication management of behavioral issues

·         Psychoses in children

·         Updates in pediatric care

Conference attendees may also improve their skills in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, neonatal resuscitation and IV access. Attendees will also be introduced to the bedside use of ultrasound.
Dr. Anthony Pearson-Shaver, Chief of Pediatrics for Navicent Health, says those who routinely care for children – including pediatric office staff, nurses, therapists, teachers, school counselors and school administrators – would benefit from the 2017 Spring Pediatric Conference.

“Often, conference attendees work so closely with children that they notice clinical or psychological needs long before diagnoses are made. These professionals are required to address the needs that develop in children in their care. During this year’s Pediatric Spring Conference, highly-qualified experts will explain the science behind the topics presented, and strategies for managing issues that adults regularly interacting with children may face,” said Dr. Pearson-Shaver.
