Due to the renovations to Central City Park and the new layout for the 2017 Cherry Blossom Festival, organizers limited public parking access and provided guests with three park and walk locations and three park and ride locations with shuttles provided by MTA.  Organizers and officials from Macon-Bibb have evaluated the plan and made several operations adjustments to ensure the best possible experience for Festival guests.
 
Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, March 30 at Noon, Central City Park will have first come first serve public parking at the Willie Smokey Glover entrance.  This includes the parking in front of the United Building, the gravel lot next to the Parks and Recreation Office, the paved Luther Williams Field parking, and the grassed area behind Luther Williams Field.  All guests will exit out of the back of the park behind Luther Williams Field.  Handicapped parking will still be available in front of the United Building.  
 
The three park and walk lots will be open and a second admission gate is opening at the top of Central City Park to accommodate the guests walking from those lots to alleviate pedestrian traffic along Willie Smokey Glover.
 
Two park and ride locations are still available with shuttles provided by the MTA at the Macon Centreplex and the lot on Riverside and New Streets adjacent to the Burger King.
