Coliseum Health System Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer

Coliseum Health System welcomes new Chief Financial Officer, Elmer B. Polite, MBA, who began his new role on February 20. Elmer’s responsibilities will include executive oversight of the financial affairs for the hospital system, which includes Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital.
Elmer has been with Community Health Systems for the last nine years, serving most recently as the CFO at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro Georgia. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center in Emporia, Virginia and Trinity Hospital of Augusta, Georgia.
A native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Elmer earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a BS in Accounting from South Carolina State University. Elmer earned his Master of Business Administration from DeVry University. Additional affiliations include the American College of Health Care Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
