Navicent Health is pleased to announce it is joining AVIA, the nation’s leading network for health systems seeking to innovate and transform through digital strategy.

Committed to disruption through innovation, Navicent Health launched its Center for Disruption & Innovation in November 2015. The center fosters collaboration among healthcare thought leaders as they apply innovation to evidence-based research and value-driven processes, specifically with a focus on the optimization of healthcare delivery and elimination of variation, as well as the development and commercialization of new products.

“At Navicent Health, our desire is to lead the industry through innovation and research. Through our partnership with AVIA, we will work closely with other network members to collaborate on important topics and solve challenges through both digital and broader methods of innovation,” said Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, President and CEO of Navicent Health.

AVIA, based in Chicago, connects more than 20 action-oriented health systems across the nation. Together they seek to transform healthcare through innovative digital solutions that solve healthcare’s biggest strategic challenges, including post-discharge care, clinician burnout, mental health access, and high reliability. AVIA Innovator Network members gain efficiency through collaboration, leveraging the Network’s knowledge to arrive at smart, fast, confident decisions.

“We are excited to join an organization that is committed to shaping the future of healthcare and does so through a network of leading, innovative health systems. We look forward to working closely with AVIA members to effectively innovate and create change in both healthcare and technology for the benefit of our patients and consumers,” said Christopher Cornue, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, Navicent Health.

From its inception, the primary goal of CfDI has been to foster creative thinking and problem solving while developing strategies that will ultimately benefit the customer. Navicent Health’s goal is to not only affect change for the benefit of patients in central and south Georgia, but to also share innovation and research throughout the industry.

“Our relationship with AVIA will further allow the Center for Disruption and Innovation to empower Navicent Health leaders with the proper tools, insights and frameworks to better respond to the needs of our patients and customers,” said Simeon Sessley, Executive Director of CfDI.

AVIA guides member health systems – including Providence St. Joseph Health, BayCare, Northwestern Medicine, and UAB Medicine among others – to define strategic goals and map an action plan that links digital opportunities to business imperatives. Action plans not only focus on quick solutions, but also on long-term transformation to create a balanced portfolio of innovation activities. AVIA prepares members for successful implementations by supporting problem identification, business case development, operational planning, and pilot design. This rigorous process accelerates scaled deployments, unlocking the true potential of innovation and driving clinical and financial results.

“Navicent Health is bold, optimistic, and committed to action – a perfect fit for the AVIA Innovator Network. They are doing impressive work in Georgia, and are now immediately connected to peers across the nation that share their passions and pursuits,” said Eric Langshur, CEO and co-founder of AVIA. “We are very excited to help Navicent Health achieve their ambitions.”

“Through our partnership with AVIA, we will continue to meet our goal of creating change throughout the industry and better secure Navicent Health’s longer term relevance and sustainability,” said Cornue.
