GDOL to Co-sponsor Houston County Expo/Middle Georgia Job Readiness Event in Warner Robins January 25th

The Georgia Department of Labor, along with several other organizations, will co-sponsor the Houston County Expo/Middle Georgia Job Readiness Event in Warner Robins on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Job seekers will be interviewed for positions in manufacturing and other industries and assessed for potential job training programs.

The event will be held from 2-5 p.m. in Building G on the Warner Robins Campus of Central Georgia Technical College located at 80 Cohen Walker Drive.

Other event sponsors include the Houston County Development Authority, the Middle Georgia Consortium, the Middle Georgia Regional Commission and the Workforce Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Among the employers expected to participate in the job fair are Advanced Drainage Systems, BioLife Plasma Services, Central Georgia Technical College Economic Development, Clean Control Corporation, Custom Cable Assemblies, Frito Lay, Interfor, Perdue Farms, Sandler Nonwoven Corporation and Sunbelt Plastic Extrusions.

Job openings that the employers are seeking to fill include: assembly technicians, electricians, electrical maintenance and mechanics, extrusion technician trainees, loading and maintenance workers, millwrights, machine and production operators, plasma center technicians, along with registered nurses and licenses practical nurses.

The GDOL staff and other co-sponsors will discuss job training programs, including on-the-job training, with the job seekers. Also, the GDOL will conduct workshops on interviewing and resume writing.
