District 18 Awarded GDOT Projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation awarded approximately $10 million for road projects in Senate District18. Projects for Senate District 18 were announced as part of the 2016 November and December awards.
“I commend GDOT for awarding these important projects to District 18,” said Sen. John F. Kennedy (R – Macon). “These upgrades will help protect the safety and wellbeing of those travelling in and around our local communities. I look forward to continuing to work with GDOT on future projects that will enhance our existing infrastructure.”
Bibb, Crawford and Peach Counties were awarded a $9.8 million project to address approximately 10 miles of pavement rehabilitation on I-75/State Route 41. The work will begin north of State Route 96 (Richard Russell Parkway) and extend north of the Bibb/Crawford County line. The anticipated completion date for this project is January 31, 2017.
A project totaling around $300,000 was awarded for signing and pavement marking upgrades at railroad crossing location throughout the district. These upgrades will be completed by May 31, 2018.
