This year, the Public Works Department wanted to reach out and support the community during the holiday season, so they collected items for the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. After just eight days, they collected 4,169 items that will be boxed up and loaded onto a truck for delivery Friday at 10:30 a.m. The truck will be loaded at the Public Works facility at 4520 Knight Road, and attached is a picture of the items.
“This was our first year doing this, and I’m very proud of our crews and how they really took ownership of this,” says Public Works Director Marvin Land. “We also want to thank all the people that donated so that we can support people in need at Christmas.
