The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Macon Economic Development Commission hosted their 156th Annual Meeting on Thursday, December 8th at Middle Georgia State University.  Attendees were presented a recap of economic  development success for 2016. In addition, accomplishments of the 2016 Board of Directors were highlighted and celebrated and outgoing Board members were recognized and thanked for their service.
          
During the meeting, the following business and community leaders were presented with awards to honor their extraordinary service during 2016:
                
Citizen of the Year Award:                Benjamin W. (Benjy)  Griffith III     

Robert F. Hatcher Award:                 Mayor Robert Reichert

Chamber Chairman's Award:            Maj. Gen. Bob McMahon (Ret.)

Ambassador of the Year Award:        Patty Burns

MEDC Champion Award :                  Navicent Health

Before concluding the meeting, George Greer, 2016 Board Chair, passed the gavel to incoming 2017 Board Chair Isaac Culver.
