The Fox 94.7 in Macon Remembers Pearl Harbor
Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Wednesday, December 7th, 2016
The Fox 94.7 radio in Macon will run a series of vignettes, featuring Fred Johnson, Macon’s last survivor of the attack at Pearl Harbor. This audio series will begin after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Ben Sandifer, morning show host on The Fox 94.7, interviewed Mr. Johnson earlier this year, just before Johnson celebrated his 101st birthday. He is one of only six Pearl Harbor survivors in Georgia. Johnson was a communications watch officer in the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the USS Maryland, on the morning of December 7, 1941.
The vignette series will run throughout the day on The Fox 94.7, a local classic hits station. The Fox 94.7 is the first radio station in Middle Georgia to broadcast in HD on 107.1 HD3. The station also streams globally on both Shoutcast and Tune In. Both of these digital platforms also offer free mobile apps for both iPhones and Android phones.
